3 New Glocks in 2023
Glock just released 3 new Glocks in 2023 for the civilian market namely the G20 Gen5 MOS, G21 Gen5 MOS, and the G47 that was developed for the United States Customs and Border Protection back in 2019, and all of them are chambered differently the Glock 20 is chambered in 10mm, Glock 21 is chambered in .45, and the Glock 47 in 9mm. All three have a Modular Optic System (MOS), which allows users to easily mount a variety of different sights and optics. And like all Glock handguns, it’s constructed with high-quality materials and is built to withstand even the most demanding conditions, making it a great choice for shooters who are looking for a handgun that they can rely on.
G20 Gen5 MOS 10mm
The Glock 20, chambered in 10mm, is one of the three new Glocks released in 2023. The Glock 20 Gen5 MOS offers a standard magazine capacity of 15 rounds, and boasts a loaded weight of 1100 grams and an unloaded weight of 845 grams, and a barrel length of 117mm.
It is an excellent choice for those who desire more velocity and power than the 9mm, and is a great option for home defense, providing ample firepower for personal protection.
G21 Gen5 MOS .45 Auto
The second of the three new Glocks is the Glock 21, chambered in .45 ACP. The Glock 21 Gen5 MOS boasts a standard magazine capacity of 13 rounds, with a loaded weight of 1095 grams and an unloaded weight of 825 grams. It features a barrel length of 117mm.
The G21 is an ideal choice for those seeking maximum firepower and stopping power. Its large caliber bullet and heavy weight make it capable of delivering a substantial amount of energy to the target, making it a highly effective option for self-defense and stopping an attacker with a single shot.
G47 MOS 9mm
And the last one is the Glock 47, Chambered in 9mm, the Glock 47 MOS has a standard magazine capacity of 17 with optional 19 / 24 / 31 / 33 size magazine with a loaded weight of 1095 g and an unloaded weight of 825 g, and a barrel length of 114mm.
One of the most notable features of the Glock 47 MOS is the ability to swap slides with a Glock 19 Gen5.
Swapping the Slide of the G47 with the frame of a G19 would result in a G19 Long and swapping the G19 Slide with the G47 would result in something close to a G45.
In summary, No matter which one you choose, you can rest assured that you will be getting a high-quality weapon that is easy to use and backed by Glock’s reputation for excellence. Additionally, the popularity and aftermarket support of Glocks make them a great choice for first-time gun owners.
Discontinuation of the Glock 17 MOS
According to Glock, the Glock 17 MOS would be replaced by the Glock 47 MOS while the remaining Glock 17 (Non-MOS) would still be part of the Gen5 lineup
